Career Opportunity - Experienced Transit Manager

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) is seeking a Transit Manager to lead its transit planning team as planning consultants to the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), assisting with day-to-day and long term planning efforts.

Job duties include:

- Managing a fast paced transit planning program, including project scoping and daily prioritizing of work.
- Managing a team of transit planners.
- Developing analysis and plans for various transit planning focus areas, including bus route planning.
- Managing a National Transit Database process.
- Assessing the local transit system against service standards and performance management metrics.  Working with staff, WRTA, and public officials to develop data-driven solutions to specific transit problems.

The preferred candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

- Team project management and staff management experience.
- Project scoping experience.
- Extensive technical expertise in transit planning analysis and study management transit.
- Proficiency with GIS and database software.
- Knowledge of LEP, Title VI, NTD, paratransit, transit safety and security preferred.
-  Knowledge of transit-related software such as Clever, Ridecheck, and Hastus a plus.
- Spanish and/or other LEP languages a plus.
-  Problem solving skills, ability to research, and ability to learn new software are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and written technical reports/memos, work with state, local officials, and the public to address specific transit problems.
-  Inter-personal skills to work with other members of a planning team, including developing consensus on solutions, facilitating public participation, and implementing action plans.

Master’s degree, with seven to ten years of experience in transit planning preferred. Salary $60,000-$78,000 commensurate with experience. Competitive fringe benefits.
