Overview

The CMRPC Engineering Services division is community assistance focused and is responsible for assisting communities with a wide range of projects. The Engineering Services staff can use their municipal experience to guide communities through complicated problems to practical solutions.

The CMRPC can provide a complete in-house experience for our communities by leveraging the Transportation Department’s data collection and mapping capabilities to identify issues and the vast experience of our engineers can help to initiate projects. With the implementation of the new Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Design Funding Policy the CMRPC Engineering Services Department is able to better assist communities with the development and design of future TIP projects.

Project Highlights

Wachusett Mountain Access Management and Parking Study

The study addressed concerns about safety issues related to illegal parking due to full lots. CMRPC conducted a series of traffic counts, parking and sign inventories, and parking utilization counts to identify traffic patterns and the utilization of current parking capacity at existing lots.

Auburn Local Sidewalk Prioritization Plan

CMRPC completed a Local Sidewalk Prioritization Plan to help guide pedestrian network expansion and maintenance over the next five years. It was based on newly collected inventory and condition data and will serve as a supplement and update to the previously completed Complete Streets Prioritization Plan.

CMRPC presented an actionable list of projects with identified funding sources to allow Auburn to complete projects that will benefit the pedestrian network’s connectivity.
