Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP)
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) released a grant program that will assist municipalities in conducting climate change vulnerability assessments and resiliency planning grants. The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program provides technical assistance for cities and towns to complete climate change vulnerability assessments, develop action-oriented resiliency plans and implement high priority climate change resilience projects. Communities that become “MVP-certified” are eligible to apply for MVP Action Grants and are prioritized for state funding opportunities.
CMRPC staff has significant experience with the MVP program and is trained in facilitating Community Resilience Building (CRB) workshops.
CMRPC has worked with or is currently working with the following communities on their MVP certification: Brookfield, West Boylston, Millbury, Grafton, Northbridge Regional Plan, Uxbridge, Barre, Berlin, North Brookfield, Sturbridge, Dudley, Douglas.
