Best Practices Guide for Local Cultural Councils
Following a sustained program of stakeholder outreach, meeting participation, local interviews, and a region-wide in-person forum, CMRPC has drafted a Best Practices Guide for Local Cultural Councils that was funded by District Local Technical Assistance (DLTA).
Designed to provide strategies that can build Local Cultural Council (LCC) capacity, expand impact, and improve local awareness, the Guide offers practicable suggestions and approaches as well as model programs and case studies.
Topic areas such as training & capacity building, youth engagement, and regional collaboration are identified and discussed in the context of bolstering LCC effectiveness. LCCs exist in nearly every community in the Commonwealth, and often go unrecognized – this Guide aims, in part, to acknowledge and appreciate the work of these Councils.
Resource Inventory
This survey is being conducted by the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission with the goal of learning about and cataloguing the wide variety of Artistic and Cultural resources which exist in our region. We aim to create a comprehensive inventory and map of existing assets which can be accessed and utilized by planners, municipalities, and residents.
