CMRPC provides a series of services to support economic development in our region. Our unique role in the region enables us to support your ideas from conception through funding and grant administration to create jobs, build community, and support future growth. Our goal is to support development of resilient local economies that are responsive to entrepreneurs, job seekers, and growing businesses, and contribute to the high quality of life across the region. CMRPC facilitates Public-Private partnerships that benefit communities, workers, businesses, and the entire region of Southern Worcester County, Massachusetts.
Brownfields
CMRPC has supported brownfields projects in Central Massachusetts through planning, community development and site assessment assistance since 2009. Currently, CMRPC offers a environmental site assessment grant-of-service program funded by the US Environmental Projection Agency (EPA).
Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
The Economic Development Organization (EDO) and CMRPC staff update the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) to reflect the latest target redevelopment sites, innovative financing and permitting techniques, and the newest thinking in our region.
Economic Development Planning
CMRPC undertakes a wide variety of economic development activities in partnership with local jurisdictions, business and academic communities, and the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).
Southern Worcester County Economic Development Organization
The SWC EDO represents a group of economic development professionals, education leaders, and appointed officials, who seek to foster growth in our region.
